The
School of
Marxism Studies was founded on December 25, 1996, which was composed of the Institute of Marxism History and the Institute of Marxism Theory Education. In July, 2003, the original School of Marxism Studies and the Department of Chinese Communist Party History were merged into the new School of Marxism Studies.
The
School of
Marxism Studies now has 44 faculties, including 17 professors, 19 associate professors, and 8 lecturers. The School has powerful teaching and research forces that have yielded rich academic publications. The School focuses on the research and teaching of Marxism history, Marxism theory & ideology education, the history of Chinese Communist Party, the contemporary socialism in the world, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory, and the important thought of Three Represents.

School of
Marxism Studies holds the teaching task as well as research. In the field of research, the school is mainly engaged in Marxism comprehensive study, especially in the history of Marxism, the history of Chinese Communist Party and Party building, and the research of Marxism Theory & Ideology Education. The School has its particular advantages and features. We have Ph.D. and Master programs in the majors of the History of CCP, Marxism Theory & Ideology Education, Marxism Philosophy, Marxism Political Economics, and Scientific Socialism & International Communist Movement. At the same time, the school assumes the task of training higher institution’s teachers in the major of Marxist Theory & Ideology Education. In August, 1997, through the approval of State Ministry of Education, the School became the first national training and research base in the program of “Marxist Theory & Ideology Education”.
The School has close academic relations with some academic institutions in USA.We have invited dozens of foreign scholars from these countries to give lectures in our school, and sent over ten our scholars abroad as visitors and research fellows.
